8-month-old Zander Lawson died July 24 from complications of near drowning, according to Senior Deputy Coroner Michelle Bright.

He had been in the hospital since the incident on June 20, according to the coroner's office.

According to Bright, Lawson's manner of death has been classified as an accident.

In June, Greenville County deputies arrested his mother Lynda Lawson, 28, and her boyfriend, Robert Bull Jr., 26, and charged them with four counts of unlawful conduct toward a child, one charge for each child present in the home.

In July, Lawson was charged with homicide by child abuse after investigators said she left her 7-month-old son in a bathtub unattended for an extended period of time, causing him to drown. Bull Jr., who was not present during the time of the drowning, was not charged in the child's death, according to the Greenville County Sheriff's Office.

As of Friday morning, Lawson was still listed as charged with homicide by child abuse in the Greenville County Detention Center.
